Mavericks Surf Contest
Mavericks can be seen from Pillar Point Beach and Bluffs. Surf is rarely up here but Mavericks has some of the biggest waves in the world (40-100 ft) on those rare occasions when it is. Maverick was named after a dog owned by a local surfer.
