A beautiful 11-turn, 2.238 mile, world famous road course with many special events. E.g., motorcycle world championship, Gran Am sports car races, old historical sports car races such as the Monterey Reunion.
We especially like the lower-key Monterey Pre-Reunion races held the weekend prior to the Pebble Beach Concourse D’Elegance (see events for details). It’s not crowded and you can visit with the drivers before the race and get great viewing spots along the famous Corkscrew hard-left/hard-right turn where it drops 5.5 stories (59 feet) in 450 feet between the entrance of Turn 8 (the lefthander) and the exit of Turn 8A (the righthander).
