Stanford Dish Hiking Trail

by Mike
(San Mateo)

This is a very nice, very popular 3.7 mile paved loop trail up and around the beautiful foothills between Stanford & Hwy 280.

The "dish" is a 150 diameter radio telescope, run by Stanford, along the trail. Expect some good exercise, views, and on weekends a lot of company from runners, Stanford students, kids, grandparents, etc. No dogs, bicycles, or bathrooms.

Location: One gate to the trail is on Junipero Serra Blvd (at Stanford Ave/Junipero Serra) one long block northwest of Page Mill Rd. Parking can be tough on weekends so you may have to drive around a bit to find a place to park.
