Flash: Closed for remodeling until early April 2014. Hopefully they make it bigger to reduce the long wait times on weekends.
We accidentally discovered Outerlands Cafe while wandering the neighborhood in 2013. Our plans were to breakfast at a nearby coffee shop but, after several locals we met on the street spoke glowingly of Outerlands, we decided to try that instead.
I had “eggs in jail” (eggs in a piece of fried bread with a hole in it plus bacon) and my lovely companion had a egg with ham sandwich. We ate at the outside tables so that our small, well behaved dog could join us. It was a great experience including pleasant service, a nice environment, and fresh ingredients such as tasty bread and organic bacon. I shall return!
Update 10/23/13: We’ve been here several times since our first visit; Anne really enjoys it. However, last Sunday morning we visited the wait was two hours. So what we’ll do next time is to sign up early and then track our reservation status by cell phone while we enjoy the rest of the funky end of Judah Street.
