Liguria Bakery -- Authentic focaccia bread in North Beach

sorry, you got here too late

This very old bakery in North Beach is justly famous for its Italian focaccia bread. Their flat seasoned bread is great and the old Italian lady at the counter will usually give you some local "attitude" at no extra charge :).

Come early for the rosemary garlic bread because they close by 1 pm (12 Sun) and usually earlier when they sell completely out of all flavors.

Location: 1700 Stockton St/Filbert at the NE corner of Washington Square Park, North Beach, SF

Focaccia Breads

I found a history of Focaccia Bread. It's a member of a family of common Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern flat breads. I had no idea it had so many uses and was so good for you.
