top things to do in san francisco bay area

Legion of Honor Museum, SF

by George
(San Francisco)

This Beaux-Arts museum building is beautiful inside and the nearby outside areas have fabulous bay views making for a close and pleasant weekend getaway from City crowds.

We have visited several times to hear our friend Brian play the 70 year old Skinner pipe organ, one of the inside treasures. (Note: Free organ concerts at 4:00 p.m. on most Saturdays and Sundays). This magnificant organ has 4,526 pipes whose tones you can both feel and hear throughout the many galleries. The combination of art and music provides a unique experience.

Location: 100 34th Ave/El Camiono Del Mar, Outer Richmond, San Francisco. Tickets: $10.
