A little bit of Cuba in Palo Alto

La Bodeguita Del Medio (the bar in the middle of the block) in Palo Alto was named after one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite hangouts in Havana.

We liked the bar area which had a very comfortable yet nice tropical ambiance. Same for the good Cuban food and rum-based cocktails. They also have a separate divan (cigar lounge) and patio area for cigar smokers. BTW, we were immediately seated for food in the bar area but would have had to wait almost 2 hours for a table in the dining room ... so call ahead for a reservation.
