Stanford Dish Hiking Trail
Stanford-Palo Alto, CA
The “Dish” is a 150 ft-diameter radio telescope, operated by Stanford as a research facility, adjacent to the trail. It is now used primarily for talking with satellites.
Expect some good exercise and views. On weekends also expect quite a bit of company from serious & not so serious walkers, runners, Stanford students & professors, kids & grandparents, and more. No dogs, bicycles, shade or bathrooms.
The main trailhead is on Junipero Serra Blvd (at Junipero Serra/Stanford Ave) one long block northwest of Page Mill Rd. Parking can be scarce on weekends so you may have to drive around a bit to find a place to park. Additional trailheads can be found further west near Junipero Serra/Frenchmans Rd and at Junipero Serra/Campus Dr. See map below.
