Les Garage French Bistro
Les Garage French bistro is a nice hidden gem most visitors never experience. It is located at the north end of Sausalito; see map. Its large garage-like front opening allows the outdoor patio seating to merge with the dining room. This informal setting helps you enjoy the beautiful pier and weather.
The French food is nice, fresh and not outrageous in price. In fact, Le Garage made the 2012 Michelin Big Gourmand list of restaurants “where you may eat well for $40 or less.” We spent much less that that for breakfast.
The host can be French brusque, if you know what I mean. However, once seated we found the waiters to be pleasant. By the way, unlike most places with outdoor patio seating they do not allow dogs.
Check the map for how to get there or expect to get lost. Les Garage does have its own parking lot about 150 ft south of the restaurant; however, the parking lot and the restaurant itself can get full after about 10:30 am. If it is full you will have to do some searching or risk illegally parking in a permit space reserved for boat owners.
There are a surprising large number of things to see and do within walking distance. See the pages below to find some of the best of them.
